To Book an Exam:

Fill out the application form.

Fill out and have employer sign Class A Skills Passport declaration form.

Pay the evaluation fee when contacted by a client services representative.

Once your application is approved, you will receive notice from Technical Safety BC to apply to write the certification exam for your class.

Pay the exam fee when contacted by a client services representative. Once all documentation and payment has been received Technical Safety BC will contact you to set up a time to write the exam.
Note: Exam request dates can be made during fee payment. Based on availability, exam dates can be scheduled 15-business days from the time of payment.
**NOTE** All paperwork must be submitted to Technical Safety BC Electronically (via email). They will not accept paper forms.
Exam Information
To successfully pass the exam,

Individuals must attain a 70% grade.

Applicants will be given three chances to pass the exam. After each attempt, applicants will receive a ‘Notification Letter’ from Technical Safety BC that details the marks achieved and highlight areas that are in need of improvement. An exam re-write fee applies to each additional attempt.

Class A exam is for four hours.

According to Elevating Devices Safety Regulation, an applicant can apply for a re-exam only after five years of failing a third attempt at clearing all required exams.
